Kṛṣṇa- Śyāmasundara
Kṛṣṇa- Śyāmasundara
Print size:9/12", Material: Museum Etched
With a beautiful complexion as dark as the monsoon clouds, Lord Krishna is also called Syamasundara which means the beautiful dark one.
In this piece, we have Syam in the Mughal garden enjoying a night of solitude with his flute.
It is said that when the beloved Syam played his flute, a most divine melody sprung forth, which made the flowing Yamuna river stand still, the cows stop chewing the grass in their mouths, the birds perch on the branches and listen with great rapture.
